Kaatu Yanai Kizhangu

Kaatu Yanai Kizhangu (காட்டு யானை கிழங்கு) is a type of wild yam (Dioscorea species) found in the forests of Tamil Nadu. It is a traditional tuber consumed by tribal communities, especially in hilly and forested regions. The name Kaatu Yanai Kizhangu translates to "wild elephant yam," possibly due to its large size and rough texture, similar to the yams that elephants feed on in the wild.

Bird’s eye chilli is also traditionally used to ease arthritispain.Chillies can also be used as an insect repellent when crushed with water. Green or ripe chillies can be used for cooking or can be eaten raw with other dishes.
