Visitors would be taken on a 60-minute ride through the tourism zone of the Tiger Reserve in buses run by the Tiger Reserve management. Visitors should present themselves 1 hour before their turn.
Please note that no private Vehicles are allowed/permitted for safari rides within the Core area of the Tiger Reserve: only department- run vehicles are engaged for safaris.
For availability services of the vehicle safari rides, visitors are requested to approach the website www.mudumalaitigerreserve.com for advance booking and also the reception center at Theppakadu, located about 100 meters from the main road to purchase tickets. The vehicle rides are on a first come first serve basis.

Note:
The First Safari bus is scheduled at 06:30 AM and will leave only after a sufficient number of guests have boarded.
The last Safari bus shall leave at 05:00 PM and thereafter Safari shall close for the day.
Since the program is operated in buses, in order to recover the operating costs, the Safari shall be operated only if at least 24 to 32 persons as per seating capacity opted for the program or if the customer is willing to pay for the remaining unfilled seats.

Rules:
All seasons throughout the year is good for visit to the reserve, except during peak summer, which occurs normally in March and April, with temperature rising up to 32ºC.
